The Wayward
Stage 1: Woebegone
Disaster after disaster has left the city of New Orleans in utter chaos. Humans here have defected from the mainstream government, making the city a haven for crime and corruption. Anarchy remains the ruling system, yet through all this, no one has stopped to think of what their actions are instilling in other species.
Domestic animals were turned loose as their masters were murdered or unsympathetic to the needs of their pets. Most affected were the dogs .They were the dominant household animal, as birds flew off to better cities and small animals became prey, and each of them learned from the madness of those they once called masters.
Humans still believe they control the city in their filthy hands, but only a fraction of the metropolis is still within their grasp. Ask any of them to go into an alley alone and they will refuse, unless they are foolhardy, for now the city is run by the growing number of those who were once subordinate to the two-legged beasts. However, some wish to reclaim the city, dare they start a crusade with creatures who have fangs and claws from birth?
