So, what is the Star system? The Star system is a point/money system used to reward members. Many sites have a money system so that members can buy things from a "shop" that they run on their site. Ascendancy has a shop and Stars can be traded for items in that shop.
How do you get Stars? Members can earn Stars through several different ways. The best way is to actively roleplay on the provided boards; for each post made in an in-character board, the poster is rewarded with five stars. But Stars can also be earned through advertising this site (check with an admin before trying to gain points by advertising) and by winning the monthly contests held at the end of each month. Other contests, held yearly and seasonally or randomly, are also ways to win Stars.
What can be bought using Stars? You can spend your Stars on the items that are offered at the shop. We have an assortment of things available, from colored names to wolf characters. There are many other items available for you to buy for yourself or your characters, and new items are added from time to time. We're on the lookout for other ideas as to how members may spend their Stars, so feel free to PM a staff member if you have any!
What kind of awards are available? We offer some monthly awards and some yearly awards. In this case, "year" has two meanings. Some awards are awarded after one game year, which is four months long. Other yearly awards are only awarded after a full twelve months. The winners of the monthly awards are nominated in the last week and a half of the month, and they are the winners until the end of the next month. The awards are as follows:
